Cast & Crew
Jim Wright and his friend, Skeeter Burke, are signed to work in the rodeo run by Colonel Ben Hall. The colonel has offered a one thousand dollar reward for the capture of Devil, a wild horse, which he wants for the rodeo's main event. Jim and Skeeter capture the horse, but Gil Baker steals it from its corral and kills Skeeter in the struggle. The sheriff finds Jim standing over Skeeter's body and arrests him for the murder. On their way to jail, someone shoots the sheriff. Jim brings the wounded man a drink of water and carries him into town before making his escape. He returns to the colonel's to discover that Baker claims to have captured Devil. He tells the colonel and his daughter Alice his story, and they hide him from the sheriff. The rodeo advertisements promise that Baker will ride Devil in the rodeo, but when Baker recognizes Jim, he runs away. To save the colonel from having to refund the customers' money, Jim rides the horse, which leads to his arrest. By a ruse, Jim manages to escape from jail, and the sheriff, believing that Jim is probably innocent, does not chase him. Jim captures Baker and a bank robber and clears his name.
