Cast & Crew
Rancher Clay Travers gives his cowboys a bonus for successfully taking his and Lafe Brown's cattle to market, despite the outbreak of rustling in the area. In an effort to rid the town of Trail City of rustlers, Clay and some of the other ranchers send for a Texas Ranger, but the lawman, Frank Madison, is ambushed by Ed Martin, the chief henchman of crooked cattleman Mark Kenyon, before he can reach their town. Martin, who is unknown to the townspeople, assumes the ranger's identity. Clay finds the dying ranger, who gives the rancher his money belt under the promise of delivering it to his sister. Clay finds a letter inside the money belt stating that the Ranger's sister, Ann Madison, will be arriving in town the next day. Kenyon's men learn of this and attempt to hold up her stage, but Clay and his men manage to stop them. Clay and Ann are immediately attracted to each other, and go to the bank the next day to deposit her money. Martin tells the townspeople that he is actually the Ranger's partner, and that he suspects Clay of the murder. A lynch mob is formed, but Clay escapes with the assistance of his loyal ranch hand, Bob. Martin then rides out to Clay's ranch and tells Ann that Bob killed her brother. Clay's men pretend to reject their boss and become Ann's bodyguards. After the Ranger's funeral, Clay abducts Ann and convinces her of his innocence. Clay and his men then capture Martin and plan to take him to the Rangers' headquarters, but a posse arrives and they are forced to flee. Clay and his friends then arrange for a town meeting in the saloon. Kenyon and his men attempt to leave the town before the meeting, but they are seen and forced to join the rest of the town in the saloon. Clay and his men arrive, poised with guns and evidence, and they force Kenyon and his gang to confess all. Clay forgives his neighbors for their false accusations, and invites everyone to his wedding to Ann the next day.
