Larry Grant, a new member of the Arizona Rangers, is assigned to the border town of Silver Springs, which is believed to be the base of operations for a gang of outlaws that has been raiding ranches in Mexico. His commanding officer tells Larry that undercover rangers Bill and George will be sent to Silver Springs in advance, and mentions that the town's silver mine recently began producing again. Meanwhile, at the silver mine, the outlaws' leader, Greg Boland, supervises as his men melt down the loot from their recent raid. The next day, in Silver Springs, J. Quincy Jones, the postmaster and sheriff, receives a notice from the Arizona Rangers offering a reward for Larry's capture. Larry arrives in town and, brandishing a whip, stages a brawl in the street with Bill. The townspeople gather to watch, and when Quincy's granddaughter Patricia recognizes Larry from the wanted poster, Quincy puts him in jail. Larry's fighting skill impresses mine owner Lance Corbin, and later, two of the outlaws, Horn and Clark, break Larry out of jail and take him to their hideout at the mine, followed by Bill and George. Concerned about his reward money, Quincy rides off after them, but Bill and George intercept him, and although they swear him to secrecy about the undercover operation, Quincy promptly reveals Larry's identity to Patricia. At the heavily guarded hideout, Larry is inducted into the gang, while Bill and George maintain surveillance from a nearby shack. The next day, Boland and henchman Hank Larkin ride into town and report to Corbin, who tells them that the target of the next raid will be wealthy Mexican Don Pablo Alvarez. The outlaws kidnap Don Pablo's daughter Dolores and hold her prisoner in their hideout. When Boland and Horn go to collect the ransom, Larry disarms and ties up Clark, and tells Dolores he is a ranger. Dolores helps Larry ambush Larkin and one of the guards, then they ride to Bill and George's shack. After sending Dolores to town for the sheriff, the rangers return to the hideout just after Boland and Larkin have returned, and the ensuing shootout leaves most of the outlaws dead. Quincy arrives at the mine, and Larry forces Boland to reveal the identity of the gang's real leader. Meanwhile, in town, Corbin comes into the post office and is surprised to see Dolores there with Patricia. Dolores explains that she was rescued, and when Patricia discloses that Larry is an Arizona Ranger, Corbin tries to leave town, but Larry trails and captures him. Later, Larry says goodbye to Quincy and Patricia as he prepares to escort Dolores back to her hacienda.
