Cast & Crew
When "Lucky" Lawrence and Tom Jeffries receive their acceptance notices to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Academy, Lucky, a barn storming pilot, immediately jumps into his plane and heads for Mounty headquarters. Half a continent away, Tom, a cowhand, jumps on his pony and gallops to headquarters. When he arrives, he collides with Lucky at the entrance of the building. The two classmates soon become close friends and constant companions, even while vying for the attentions of Betty Duvalle, a student at a nearby teacher's college. After graduating, Lucky is assigned to the Air Patrol while Tom is sent to open a new post in remote timber territory. Upon arriving at the remote outpost, accompanied by his assistant, Hap Andrews, Tom meets Betty's brother, Frenchy Duvalle, the unprincipled lumber camp boss, and earns Frenchy's enmity when he warns him about adhering to the forest conservation laws. Soon after, chicken pox breaks out among the children of the camp and Lucky flies in with the vaccine. Once the epidemic is under control, Betty, having graduated from teacher's college, comes to teach school to be near her brother. When Tom forbids Frenchy to float logs down river because they will imperil the wharfs along the river banks, Frenchy decides to create a legal excuse for floating the logs by setting fire to the grasslands near his lumber. After the fire spreads beyond control and threatens the lives of Betty and a large family, Tom goes to their rescue, but is trapped in the blaze. Lucky flies in to save Betty and the others, but Tom stays behind to fight his way through the flames. Later, when Hap overhears Frenchy discussing his part in the fire, Frenchy kills him and speeds away in a motor boat. As the entire force searches for Frenchy, Tom locates him holding Betty hostage in her cabin. While trying to escape by jumping to the roof of another building, Frenchy misjudges the distance and falls to his death. Later, Lucky and Tom join the Mounty dress parade as Betty waves to them both.
