Cast & Crew
After Carroll has been abducted into the hills by a gang headed by Garson, Carroll's daughter Rita and her friend Minnie search for him. Meanwhile, Tom Wade, an agent of the Cattlemen's Protective organization, and his sidekick Happy are summoned to investigate. Tom helps Rita and Minnie escape from Garson's gang and follows them into the town of Talmadge. There Tom confers with the sheriff, informing him that Carroll had come into town to sell his ranch and was suspicious of the deal that Garson made with him. Garson reaches Rita and Minnie and after leading them to believe that Tom is a criminal, arranges for Rita to meet with her father the next day. Tom and Happy stop Rita and Minnie en route to their rendezvous with Garson's men, and Tom convinces Rita that Garson is after her because he thinks she knows about his deal with her father. Garson's men unexpectedly appear and after knocking Tom unconscious, abduct Rita and take her to their hideout. After Tom revives, Minnie returns to the hotel while Tom and Happy follow the tire tracks of Rita's car until they end. They return to town and arrange for a posse to look for Rita. Garson, meanwhile, allows Rita to see her father. Carroll tells her that he became suspicious of Garson's inflated offer for the ranch and discovered that Garson was using the land to smuggle armaments across the border. The gang then forced him to choose between smuggling and disappearing. Rita and her father pretend to agree to Garson's terms after he agrees to allow Rita to send a letter to Minnie telling her that she is safe. Unknown to Garson, however, Rita has included a coded message in the letter, which Tom interprets. In accordance with Rita's instructions, Tom follows a trail of beads left by Rita's purse to the hideout. Happy follows with a posse. Tom appears just as Garson figures out that Rita double-crossed him, and Garson and his gang are arrested for smuggling and kidnapping.
