Cast & Crew
Pyotr, the blind, sheltered child of a wealthy 19th-century Russian noble family, shows great promise as a pianist. When he grows older, his family decide that he should enroll in the Kiev conservatory to finish his formal music training. However, counseled by his Uncle Maksim, who in years past had fought for Garibaldi, he dresses in peasant's clothing and travels around the countryside with two blind bandurists. He encounters many misfortunes greater than his own and learns the "sound of life" from the people he meets. He returns to give a triumphant concert with his friends by his side.
