A wealthy manufacturer's twin teen-age daughters are enthralled by the performance of vaudeville acrobat Fred Morris. Later, the twins's country cousin Carolyn introduces them, to their delight, to Morris, who becomes Carolyn's fiancé. After the twins's father banishes Morris from the house and breaks off the engagement, the girls grieve, but later Carolyn marries a young clerk of whom the father approves. During the summer, the twins visit their Aunt Sally in a small Connecticut town. Their tedium is broken when a traveling circus arrives with Morris and his new wife Stella, a trapeze performer. Stella persuades the twins to join, and they leave with the circus the next day. Billed as "The Flying Twins," they perform daring feats, but soon grow homesick. Detectives fail to locate them, until Morris, who has fallen and now depends on the twins for support, sends their father a taunting, anonymous letter. A car chase ensues, until the girls grab onto an overhanging limb, and the car carrying Morris and Stella plunges into a river. The girls then gladly return home.
Madeline and Marion Fairbanks were known as the "Thanhouser Twins." Harry La Pearl and Bertha Leon were real circus performers.
