Cast & Crew
After years of experimentation, Benjamin Lord, an old lame inventor, perfects a pottery glaze that promises to revolutionize the industry and make him wealthy. After Lord's grandson David leaves a sample with Hilbert Grinde, the ambitious and unscrupulous junior partner of a pottery works, Grinde orders his chemist, Timothy Mole, to procure the formula so that Grinde can gain control of the company. Mole takes part of the formula from Lord's laboratory and kills Lord during a struggle. Grinde arrives, and to hide the crime, Mole and he arrange a chemical explosion that destroys the laboratory. After David and his sweetheart Mary perfect the formula, Grinde and Mole attempt to buy it, but David refuses them. They lock David and Mary in a concrete vault and pour chlorine gas inside. Grinde then attacks Mole, leaving him for dead, and steals the formula book. As Grinde is taking control of a stockholders' meeting, Mole, bloodied and bruised, interrupts and confesses. Grinde and Mole go to prison, and David, after he and Mary are rescued, becomes president of the pottery works.
