Cast & Crew
Fearful of what Faulkner, his employer, will think of him if he is seen sitting in the theater gallery, Jimmy Mason, a poor clerk, buys only the most expensive tickets. When a popular musical comes to town, Jimmy tries to purchase orchestra seats, but ends up in the gallery. During the show, Jimmy is stabbed with a hat pin by Alice Carroll, a pretty theater devotee. The stabbing leads to a friendly conversation, which leads to an invitation to another show, which Alice accepts only on condition that they sit in the gallery. In spite of his jealous behavior toward her wealthy employer, Alice sees Jimmy often, always insisting that they buy twenty-five-cent tickets. One night, Jimmy's greatest fear comes to pass when Mr. Faulkner spots him in the gallery. Summoned by his employer the next day, Jimmy is told that his wise economizing at the theater has resulted in a raise and a promotion. Thus enriched, Jimmy runs to a knowing Alice and proposes that they split the raise on a permanent, marital basis.
