A Pair of Silk Stockings
Cast & Crew
Sam and Molly Thornhill, a young English couple, are quite happy together until they quarrel about the make of car they should buy. To make Molly jealous, Sam buys expensive clothing for another woman, placing the clothes where Molly will find them, and she subsequently divorces him. Discouraged and unhappy, Sam visits the country home of some friends who are staging an amateur play, where he sees Molly, whose car has broken down nearby. Captain Jack Bagnal, Molly's old suitor, unintentionally wanders into her room, where Sam, disguised as a tramp for the play, is hiding, and the two, imagining him a burglar, tie his hands with her silk stockings and lock him in a room. To explain Jack's presence in Molly's room to his distressed fiancée, Pamela Bristowe, Jack and Molly tell the guests about the burglar, but Sam has escaped. When he reappears wearing Molly's stockings, all is explained, and Sam and Molly call their neighborhood vicar to remarry them.
