Traveling companions and bandits Jack Reed, Judge and Estebán are waiting to rob a stagecoach when they see another group of thieves attempt to beat them to it. The trio chases off the other group, then discover that the stagecoach has a passenger, the lovely Nora Hastings, who believes that they deliberately rescued her and saved the strongbox. Not wishing to disillusion her, Jack and his friends escort her to the town of Rawhide, where they are recognized by the sheriff. Nora persuades the sheriff to let them stay until the next day, then goes with Hal Drummond, her late uncle's partner, to examine the Elite saloon and dance hall, which her uncle willed to her. Nora is disappointed by the Elite, however, which is boarded up and displays a "for rent" sign. Drummond reassures her, telling her that he will loan her enough money to return East and then deduct the loan from her share of the money if he can sell the building. She signs over her share of the business, and later that day, after Drummond thinks she is gone, he reopens the saloon and it fills with customers. Jack and his friends see the open bar and look for Nora, but are told by Drummond that he is the only owner of the bar and that Nora is gone. Nora, who has not left town yet, also sees the open saloon and realizes that Drummond has swindled her. He points out to her that as she signed the contract there is nothing she can do. The three friends find out about the swindle and plan to help Nora by opening another bar and forcing Drummond out of business. They pool their money, rent a building facing the Elite, steal all of the Elite's liquor, and open up the Oasis Bar the next day. Drummond tries to get them arrested for stealing the liquor, but after they re-label the bottles, not even Drummond's bartender Tim recognizes them. The Oasis is soon doing booming business, while Drummond and Tim sit around with nothing to do. Trouble starts, however, when the express agent is killed and the strongbox that Jack saved is robbed. The sheriff finds a medallion with the initials J. R. on it, and he arrests Jack, who refuses to say where he was at the time of the murder. Jack escapes, but Estebán is wounded when he and Judge are captured. Jack rescues Judge from jail, and after spending the night in their hideout, Jack is about to go to Rawhide to check on Estebán when they see two riders with the strongbox. The riders, Mike and Porky, are waiting for the boss and Brown, who will exchange the gold for paper money. Jack and Judge ambush Brown, and while Judge guards him, Jack impersonates him. Jack's scheme works until the boss, Drummond, shows up and recognizes him. Jack and Judge fight with the three men and, after trouncing them, take them and the strongbox to the sheriff. Drummond confesses to killing the agent, and Jack reveals that he is actually an undercover agent for the express company. Judge is shocked at the news but is pleased when Jack assures him that he and Estebán will receive the reward money for the capture of the gang. Jack and Judge then visit Estebán, who has recovered from his wound and is flirting with two señoritas.
