Cast & Crew
During the Great War, Owen Bradley neglects his fiancée, Toppie, in order to spend his leave with Madame Vervier, a mature and beautiful Frenchwoman. When Owen is killed, his brother, Giles, takes Alix Vervier, Madame Vervier's daughter, to England in order to introduce her to the Bradley family, thereby fulfilling a promise he once made to Owen. Alix is soon a favorite and becomes engaged to a viscount. Toppie later decides to enter a convent, and Giles, who has always been fond of her, declares his love; Toppie, however, cannot be dissuaded from a religious vocation by his pleas, so Alix, out of friendship for both Giles and Toppie, tells her the truth about Owen and Madame Vervier. Toppie denounces Madame Vervier and takes the veil. The viscount learns of the uncertain reputation of Alix' mother and breaks off the engagement. Alix returns to France, where she is soon joined by Giles, who declares his love for her and thus makes her a very happy little French girl.
