Cast & Crew
After the mother of a family of east-side crooks and her companion Pete go to jail, the woman's son Sam has the daughter Constance, who is always being put upon by the others, pose as the long-lost daughter of wealthy widow Mrs. Waldron, who is becoming insane with grief. Mrs. Waldron's secretary, Laura Campbell, while not believing the hoax, adds credence to it to allay Mrs. Waldron's sickness. With Constance's help, Mrs. Waldron's condition improves remarkably, while Constance herself acquires sophistication in dress and manner, and falls in love with lawyer Charles Hadwin. When Sam's mother and Pete get out of jail, they try to blackmail Constance, but Mrs. Waldron recognizes Sam's mother as the nurse maid who years earlier stole her baby. Constance is proven to be Mrs. Waldron's real daughter and is then free to confess her love to the previously socially superior Charles.
