Cast & Crew
Leonore Fenwick marries well-to-do Ralph Manson, and they live happily until three years after their son Eugene is born. At that time Manson elopes with a burlesque actress. Leonore gets a divorce and lives on alimony until Manson dies. To provide for Eugene, Leonore accepts money from real estate broker Robert Hadley, and consents to be his mistress when he promises to marry her after he divorces his wife who lives in the Midwest with their son Arthur. However, when Hadley's wife dies and Arthur comes to live with him, Hadley ignores Leonore. Eugene, now a college athlete, falls in love with Madeline Deland, a wealthy widow's daughter, whom Arthur also courts. After Madeline accepts Eugene's proposal, Arthur tells Madeline's brother about Hadley's liaison with Leonore. When Mrs. Deland breaks off the engagement, Eugene learns about the affair and goes to shoot Hadley. Leonore stops him, but when Hadley persists in telling Eugene about the arrangement, she shoots him. Leonore is arrested, but the jury frees her on the ground of temporary insanity. Later, Madeline is reunited with Eugene.
