Cast & Crew
Gogo Pasquier, the small son of a Parisian chemist and the sweetheart of Mimsi Seraskier, is adopted by Colonel Ibbetson, an English rake, following the death of his father and mother. In England, as Peter Ibbetson, he grows up in a dissolute environment and is repulsed by the colonel. One night, at the theater, he meets Mimsi and learns that she is now the Duchess of Towers. In the dressing room of a dancer, Peter quarrels with his uncle, who asserts that Peter is, in fact, his son, and in a later encounter Peter kills him in self-defense. Although he is tried and sentenced to be hanged, Peter's sentence is commuted through the influence of the Duchess of Towers to life imprisonment. Both grow old, but their dream life continues; Mimsi perishes while rescuing children from a burning orphanage, her soul returns to Peter when he dies, and the two are reunited in spiritual bonds.
