Cast & Crew
A van carrying a thoroughbred yearling catches fire while crossing the Arizona desert, and the driver unloads the horse. Frightened by a passing dune buggy, the horse escapes and is spotted by Goyo, a Navajo goatherd. Goyo pursues the yearling and saves him from drowning in a mudhole. He saddles the horse, names him Tom Tom, and decides to keep him. In the meantime, a search for the valuable yearling is begun by the truckdriver, assisted by helicopter pilot and cropduster Bob Davis and Father O'Flaherty, a parish priest to the Navajos. Fran Harper, the horse's owner, arrives to help in the search. Father O'Flaherty meets Goyo in the desert and advises him to return the horse to Miss Harper. Although at first he refuses to give up what he believes to be rightfully his, Goyo later relents and decides to return Tom Tom to Miss Harper. He is on his way to the parish when two Mexican bandits steal the yearling and head for Mexico. Goyo races to Father O'Flaherty and tells him of the theft. Aloft in Davis' helicopter, Goyo points out the bandits' trailer, and Davis drops a load of chemicals on the truck, thereby bringing it to a halt. Happy to have the horse back, Miss Harper rewards Goyo with a completely outfitted cow pony in return for his help in recovering her horse.
