Cast & Crew
Before going to work, a Greenwich Village waitress takes a bath. As she sits in her tub, she is joined by a young man, apparently "high" on marijuana. The waitress chats about friends, coiffures, and sex while thwarting the man's advances. Eventually they become a threesome with the arrival of a second girl. At the restaurant, where everyone is nude except for bikini briefs, the waitress serves her customers in a desultory manner, talking mostly about the men in her life and about her old-fashioned father. She also finds time to weave flowers in the hair of a husky young man whose body has been painted with psychedelic designs and engage in an involved bout of kissing with a man who doesn't speak. Occasionally, a patron plays a guitar or talks. A young draft dodger speaks out against the war in Vietnam, and another man intersperses snatches of autobiographical discourse with harmonica music. Dominating everything, however, is the sound of the waitress' voice as she talks on and on.
