A successful young lawyer, Michael Pierson, is tired and reticent when he returns home to celebrate his parents' thirtieth wedding anniversary. He is later diagnosed as having AIDS, and afterwards breaks the shocking news to his family that he has the disease -- and that he is homosexual. The television movie examines how his traditional family tries to cope with the fact that Michael is dying of AIDS.
