Biography

Best remembered as Nat Bussichio, owner and operator of the Peach Pit Diner on the 1990s teen staple "Beverly Hills, 90210," Joe Tata began his career as far back as 1960. Born in Pittsburgh in 1936, Tata started out with guest roles on popular series like the science fiction anthology "The Outer Limits" and POW camp comedy "Hogan's Heroes." He also had occasional arcs on crime-centric shows like "The Rockford Files" and "Hill Street Blues" before landing the part of Nat on "Beverly Hills, 90210." From there Tata became a familiar, friendly face on television. He settled into the role of the kindly Nat and took on only a few other parts during the 10-year run of the show. Tata has not worked much since, but he put in a brief appearance on the popular coven dramedy "Charmed" in 2001, and later reprised the role of Nat for three episodes on the 2008 remake, "90210."
